South Downs National Park Authority The South Downs National Park Authority (SDNPA) is responsible for keeping the South Downs a special place. The SDNPA is also the planning authority for the National Park. The Local Plan is part of the statutory development plan for the whole National Park, along with the minerals and waste plans and ‘made’ (adopted) Neighbourhood Development Plans (NDP). It sets out how we will manage development over the period 2014 to 2033. All Local Plan policies and Neighbourhood Plan policies should be viewed together and not in isolation. The Policies Maps illustrate the policies in map form. When using the Local Plan, reference should be made to the Policies Maps when the policy makes clear there are location-specific or area-specific policy requirements.
